In todays session, Lauren my group partner was not present so instead I continued with the storyboard and added extra detail to the description area. As well as this I updated my blog and changed some posts to make them more in depth which would then potentially get me higher marks.

Diary Entry: 23rd August
In todays lesson I had to choose other students in the class whom I wanted to work with. As I got a good result in my Foundation Portfolio in the AS year, I decided to work with the same person; Lauren Mcmanus. Me and Lauren were both on the same level of motivation and creativity as well as cooperating and communicating very well which makes us both believe we could work well again, to gain another high result.
Once we got into our groups we mindmapped what type of product we would want to produce, the choices narrowed down to music videos and documentaries. We then came up with ideas for each of the genres and decided the topics for documentaries could be teenage pregnancy, obesity and education. For the music video product we divided our choices into genres such as pop, hip-hop, grunge, rock and classical. When putting our thoughts and ideas on paper we erased the ones that may be difficult to complete. The idea of doing a documentary we thought would be difficult as we would have to get people to participate and discuss topics that may be sensitive to talk about and we did not want to go into detail with an idea and not to be able to successfully finish it. Therefore we chose to do a music video in the genre of grunge as we both liked the song chosen "The Pretty Reckless- You".
When the song was chosen we started to sketch the storyboard and briefly detail what each shot contained. One of our ideas was to have a girl who is single and reminising about her ex-boyfriend, and would go past certain places and think about the times they were together. For example she goes past a restaurant and a flashback would happen when they were happier.
Next lesson, Lauren is not here for the lesson due to a vacation therefore I will continue to sketch the ideas and update my blog.
